-The Ways you Drive to
the Rhythm and Rhyme-
Valley Below started out as acoustic
duo in 2003. Then there were the two acoustic guitars
and two voices on the road barefooted. On the way the
brand new VB-tunes developed and found their form during
summer tours 2004-05.
For over a year now,
Valley Below has also been working and rehearsing as a
five piece outfit. The band has played several gigs on
different kind of venues in Finland and at the same time
VB has been working on their debut album.
Recording, mixing and mastering took place at Studio LevelOne in Jyväskylä in 2006.
Valley Below debut album, Running Rites, was
released in 11.4.2007.
-You run in Cities and
their Prairies-
Running Rites
will present an organic and down to earth band sound.
There are influences from the 60’s pop-harmony to the
90’s powerpop. The album is a collection of ten
individual songs, lyrically connected to each other.
Even if the main characters are lost and lonely, looking
for the answers by wandering in the circle of the cities
– in the end, there is an emotional and hopeful mood
throughout the whole record.

Rather than any
up-to-date hip trends, Valley Below would like to
represent timeless pop tradition, that is to say, a
mixture of catchy melodies and meaningful pop lyrics.
Along with this ambition - and with Running Rites debut
album, Valley Below is as eager as always to play more
gigs and share these tunes with ‘new audiences’ during
2007.
